What is a dyslexia assessment?
A dyslexia assessment is a specialist evaluation designed to identify whether a child has dyslexia and to understand their unique learning profile.

What happens at the assessment?
On the day of the assessment, I will work one-on-one with the learner, using a series of structured assessments.
These explore areas such as:
✔️ Verbal and visual ability
✔️ Working memory and processing speed
✔️ Phonological awareness (how sounds are processed in words)
✔️ Reading, writing, and spelling skills
How long does it take?
The assessment usually takes 2 to 4 hours, with plenty of short breaks to ensure the child stays comfortable and focused. I understand this can be a long session, especially for younger learners, so I aim to keep the process as relaxed and supportive as possible.

What happens next?
Following the assessment, a comprehensive report will be provided within 3-4 weeks. This will outline the findings, highlight the child’s strengths and challenges, and offer tailored recommendations for support at home and in school. The report will clearly state whether your child will be receiving a diagnosis of Dyslexia or not. A 20-minute virtual meeting or telephone call can be arranged to discuss the report.
What does it cost?
A full diagnostic assessment for Dyslexia with a detailed report and 20 minute virtual or telephone feedback meeting, will cost £600.
